Weekend adventure in which we go to the country and eat a lot of peaches

For the 4th of July Mr. Snowgoose and I headed south to the North Georgia mountains to stay at my family's cabin for a few days. I hadn't been there in 7 years and Mr. Snowgoose wanted to see hill people. The dogs did not make the trip with us, instead they went to puppy summer camp.

We arrived in Hotlanta on Friday afternoon. MAD and RangerK picked up up at the airport (RangerK was a surprise. We thought she wasn't coming) and we drove the two hours to the cabin, stopping along the way for beer (as there isn't a beer store in a 30 miles radius).

We spent the next few days hiking (but no death marches)

visiting waterfalls,

eating lots of barbecue (made by MAD complete with Carolina mopping sauce), and tubing down the creek.

Mr. Snowgoose even went for a run one morning where he encountered a pack of redneck (nonbitin') dogs. We also took a nice long, tube ride down river to the Tennessee state line which resulted in a nice tan.

We even stopped in at a Mennonite farm.

The weekend was too short and I fell in love with the South all over again. I even managed to bring 10 pounds of peaches on the plane, which we consumed within the week.
