That time I locked myself out

When Mr. Snowgoose and I first moved into our house, it took about 3 days before he locked himself out. It was a Saturday and I was working way north of the city. Mr. S. had gone for a run and was going to paint outside when the mishap happened, so he ran to his dad's house (where he was locked out as well) and waited for him to come home so that they could drive north to get my key. I made fun of him for weeks and made spare copies of the key so that it would not happen again.

Flashforward six months and you find us adopting puppies (details later). I was going to be gone last weekend and my friend Mr. Dave was going to stop by and check on the puppies while Mr. S was at work, so I gave him the spare key. Of course, the day after I gave him the key I managed to lock myself out while taking the trash out. I called Mr. Snowgoose from the local coffee shop and made him wake up Mr. Dave (who lives about 2 miles away) to come let me in. I knew it would take him awhile, so I went for a short run, took my Christmas lights down, and mailed some letters at the post office. An hour later Mr. Dave shows up and lets me in with enough time to change clothes and jump into the car to drive to work. Of course I made a third spare key the next day.

That brings us to today. I stopped by a grocery store to pick up fruit on my to work this afternoon. Somewhere between locking the car and checking out, I lost my car key. Whoops. I called work to say I'd be late and walked the mile and a half from the store to the library. Mr. Snowgoose is borrowed his dad's car to drive up the spare key so I could drive the car home. Needless to say, I'll be making some spare copies of the car keys.

I really don't know what has made me so forgetful in the last week. Puppy brain? Being sleep-deprived?

I've more than evened up the playing field and can no longer poke fun at my dear husband for locking himself out.
